Be Transformed was our theme at Souled Out 22, and yes, it really was transformative! Following three years of waiting, Souled Out was back in Coleg y Bala, and was really worth the wait!

Hello everyone, it’s Joseff Griffiths here, a lad from Llanuwchllyn near Bala, with a bit to share about the amazing time I had at Souled Out this summer at Coleg y Bala. Souled Out is a welcoming five-day Christian conference, overflowing with friendly people, good teaching and fun activities. I feel that my faith, something important to me, has been encouraged and energised following the week as well.

A highlight for me was the praise and worship during the main sessions. This year I’ve experienced how powerful praise is, and so there was nothing better than worshipping our Lord together and experiencing his warm presence.

Also, something else wonderful was the community of people there. Despite such a diversity of people, there was such a homely and friendly atmosphere. It was a blessing to see old friends again and make new ones too. There were many encouraging conversations over a cup of tea, while warming marshmallows by the fire and in our small groups. Above all, it was a huge pleasure and encouragement to see God at work in the lives of others around me of different ages and backgrounds.

Another great thing was the contemporary and practical teaching. Through a multitude of different speakers, we looked at topics such as mindset, spiritual gifts and effective communication. A clear message from God throughout the week was his amazing love and faithfulness towards us; how he wants to set us free from those things that hold us back and transform us completely to be more and more like the amazing person he has carefully designed us to be! These were relevant and transformative messages for the rest of our lives.

And of course, Souled Out was jam-packed with fun and excitement! I had a great time at the big football game, bouncing on inflatables, enjoying delicious ice cream in the sun, dancing on the disco floor, jumping around at Flip Out in Chester and more!

Since I started coming, I always look back on Souled Out as one of the highlights of the year, where I experienced God’s love and closeness, such a warm community of people and sweet memories of fun in the summer. And Souled Out this summer surpassed my hopes. Encouraged and equipped for my next steps, I’m already looking forward to Souled Out 2023 and really encourage you or others you know to come: it’s a transformative opportunity, fun and too good to miss!
